INFRASTRUCTURE

The Program is integrated with the other ten programs of the Postgraduate Center of the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG, and the hospital complex of the Hospital das Clínicas of UFMG (Health Campus), counting on the support of a solid infrastructure for teaching and research Experimental and clinical. All students are encouraged to use the infrastructure made available, in particular, the facilities of research laboratories that provide resources to  perform experiments in molecular biology and experiments in vivo with cells culture and animals. The Faculty of Medicine provides the facilities for experimental work on animals.

The PPGCO is based in the Medical School building, but it interacts strongly with the facilities for the care of outpatients and inpatients in the Clinical Hospital of UFMG. Therefore, in addition to the infrastructure of the Faculty of Medicine, including research laboratories, computer center, telemedicine and simulation center, comfortable classrooms, Postgraduate Center and library. Computer Resources

The Graduate Center of the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG has its own computer laboratory exclusively for postgraduate students. In this laboratory there are twenty-four computers with access to the internet and the intranet of UFMG, print service and computer monitors in person all day to help students. In addition, internet access is free for all teachers and students.

The subjects of Informatics Applied to the Scientific Method and principles of biostatistics are taught in this laboratory. The classes are theoretical-practical with a computer for each student. The Informatics Center of the Faculty of Medicine (CIM) offers full support to teachers in their difficulties with the new technologies in computerization.

The Postgraduate Center provides advanced equipment for teleconferencing, which allows defenses to be programmed at a distance, allowing greater interactivity with other national and international programs, as well as offering on-line disciplines.

Library

The Faculty of Medicine and the UFMG have modern libraries, with a great bibliographic collection and have a commutation service with BIREME and computers to access the periodical portal of CAPES. In addition, students are offered the password of my UFMG that allows access to the academic system and to the periodic database of CAPES. This allows total flexibility to the student who can consult articles from home, the workplace, etc.

The Postgraduate Center has a specific professional in the area of ​​Statistics to assist students in the design and statistical analysis of their research.

The HC-UFMG presents an excellent infrastructure that facilitates clinical and epidemiological research. It presents several wards, surgical block, obstetric block, intensive care units for children and adults, computer and telemedicine center, annexes for the operation of specialized services and ample administrative infrastructure.
