AGNALDO SOARES LIMA

Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFMG. Medical degree (1987) from UFMG. Master’s degree in Surgery from UFMG (1995) and PhD in Medicine (Gastroenterology) from UFMG (2004). Fellow in Organ Transplantation at the University of Strasbourg – France (1991-1993). Coordinator of the Transplant Group of the Alpha Institute of Gastroenterology. Coordinator of the Liver Department of the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplantation (ABTO), management 2010-2011. He held the position of 2nd secretary on the Board of Directors of ABTO for the management of 2013-2015. He is currently a member of the Liver Department of ABTO, managing 2016-2017. Head of the Brazilian College of Surgeons (CBC), where he held the position of Master in the Chapter of Minas Gerais of CBC (2012-2013). Titular of the Brazilian College of Digestive Surgery, where he holds the position of Regional President of Minas Gerais.

Areas of interest: Liver transplantation, liver tumor surgery, transplantation of other organs of the digestive system and surgery of the digestive system.

Adjunct Professor IV of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFMG. Medical degree from the UFMG (1986), Medical Residency in Neurosurgery at the HC-UFMG (1991), Master of Medicine (Neurosurgery) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1997), PhD in Medicine (Surgery) at UFMG (2009) and Post-doctorate at Columbia University and Weill Cornell in New York (USA, 2013). Complementary training in General Neurosurgery in Strasbourg (France), Zurich (Switzerland) and Hannover (Germany) and Functional Neurosurgery in Montreal (Canada) and Houston (USA). Neurosurgeon physician at Hospital das Clínicas at UFMG and Mater Dei and Vera Cruz Hospitals.

ANTONIO LACERDA FILHO

Associate Professor III, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFMG. Medical degree from the UFMG (1986),  Master’s Degree in Surgery from the UFMG Medical School (1994), PhD in Gastroenterology from the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG (2004). Member of the Coloproctology and Small Intestine Group of the Alpha Institute of Gastroenterology of the Hospital das Clínicas of UFMG. Full Member of the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology and the Brazilian College of Surgeons and International Fellow of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons. President of the Mnas Gerais Society of Coloproctology (2000-2002) and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Brazilian Society of Coloproctology.

DANIEL VITOR DE VASCONCELOS SANTOS

Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, UFMG. Medical degree from UFMG (1995-2000),  PhD in Ophthalmology (2004-2007) from UFMG and Postdoctoral Degree in Ocular Inflammatory Diseases and Ophthalmic Pathology from the Doheny Eye Institute / University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA). Preceptor of the medical residencies of Ophthalmology of Hospital São Geraldo / HC-UFMG and Pathology of HC-UFMG, besides clinical coordinator of the Telehealth Center of Hospital das Clínicas of UFMG and head of Uveitis Sector of Hospital São Geraldo / HC-UFMG . Elected member of the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG) and the American Uveitis Society (AUS). Board member of the International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS) and international consultant for the Basic and Clinical Sciences Course (Section 9 – Intraocular Inflammation And Uveitis) from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).

IVANA DUVAL DE ARAUJO

Leader of the Research Group of Experimental Surgery Laboratory (certified by CNPq).

Topics of interest: Local and Systemic Changes in Peritonitis, Interfering Factors in Tissue Healing and Motor and Gastric Secretory Response in Experimental Infection by Spiral Gastric Bacteria, especially in experimental models of surgical diseases.

MARIA ISABEL TOULSON DAVISSON CORREIA

Full Professor, Department of Surgery, Medical Faculty, UFMG. Master’s Degree in Surgery from UFMG (1997), PhD in Medicine (Digestive System Surgery) from the University of São Paulo (2000). Postdoctoral degree from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2008 with a CAPES scholarship. Co-editor of Nutrition magazine, member of the editorial board of Clinical Nutrition, Current Opinion in Metabolic and Nutrition Care, Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Brazilian Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Medical Journal of Minas Gerais, and reviewer of the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. CNPq Level 2 Researcher.

Topics of interest: Malnutrition, surgery and nutritional therapy, with special focus on liver transplantation, cancer, metabolism and specific nutrients such as arginine, glutamine, citrulline and probiotics.

Head of the Retinal and Vitreous Service of the São Geraldo Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais; Chief Executive Officer of the Belo Horizonte Vision Institute.  Vice-president of the Brazilian Academy of Ophthalmology. President of the Brazilian Society of Retina and Vitreous (SBRV) (1998-1999); Member of the International Board of the American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS) (2002-2004); Member of the International Board of the European Society of Retina and Vitreous (EVRS) (2007-2009); Brazilian Delegate at the Pan American Society of Ophthalmology (1995-1998) and Vice President of the Brazilian Society of Ophthalmology (2007-2009). SEBASTIÃO CRONEMBERGER SOBRINHO

Full Professor of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Professor of UNIFESP. Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Piauí (1974), PhD in Ophthalmology from UFMG (1979) and Post-Doctorate in the United States (1994). Head of the Glaucoma Service of Hospital São Geraldo (Hospital das Clínicas) since July 1997. Leader of the Group of Researches in Ophthalmology, linked to CNPq. Full Member of Chair 27 of the Minas Gerais Academy of Medicine. In 2016, he published in Apple the ibook Diagnosis and Management of Glaucoma. Member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Archives of Ophthalmology and the Brazilian Journal of Ophthalmology. ARVO Global Mentor (2016-17).
